Two Saturday’s ago was my first time. To Plaza GM, that is. 18 pairs of shades for RM99. Is that a bargain or is that a bargain?
Anyway I’m doing a review on this Bak Kut Teh place near Plaza GM. It’s called Medan Selera (Air Conditioned).
When you first walk in, the emptiness would put you off. But the service makes you want to kiss the owner. Before you ask, no I didn’t -_- pleasela.
The BKT was better than I had expected. The meat was lean, it was soft but not till it melted in your mouth, it was juicy and there weren’t the unwanted parts so nothing got wasted. But most importantly, there was a disco ball and a karaoke machine. I’m still amazed why that shop wasn’t packed out.
Okay so the points to make here are:
1) Awesome service: For once the chinese dude isn’t speaking to me in Mandarin hoping my Indian ears had an in-built language converter.
2)Food was tasty. I’d give it a 5.5 out of 10 with 1 being the soup tastes like Klang River and the meat having the consistency of rhino rump.
3) Karaoke set, disco ball AND platform stage.
4) Funny revolving Wan Tan Mee sign.
5) Empty retaurant so you can enjoy your food fast and you aren’t bogged down by the din.
Taking into account the above and the fact I had good company, all in all I’d give this restaurant a 3 out of 5 diamonds.
Would I go back there?
For 7 bucks a person, for sho. Must see the disco ball and owner again.
Happy Chinese New Year everyone. *hands illegal fireworks to all chinese people* Go crazy.

Thinking of: Ben Fold’s Landed, Green Day’s 21 Guns, my new green pair of ‘Martin Johnson’ Ray Ban’s and how much I love my grandma.
