I’m going to float like it’s my civil right.

A couple of weeks ago J.Sim mentioned the world’s largest floating Christian bookstore called the Logos Hope was berthing at Port Klang. I had the privilege today of going there with my mother.

With over 5,000 titles, their books are affordable and the entry fee is only RM1 (children below 12 get in for free). They are docking at the Port Klang Cruise Centre till the 23 of October 2011. The ship is open to visitors from 10am to 10pm on Tuesdays to Saturdays, 1pm to 10pm on Sundays and will be closed on Mondays. I encourage anyone who has the means to visit this ship to do so.

I think my favourite part of the tour was the story-teller, who was not only cute but told the story of the prodigal son really well.

I was really inspired today. There are workers form over 45 nationalities on the Logos Hope. People who have left families and friends to travel around the world to share the Gospel of Christ and to promote education in children and adults. Their value for literacy is astounding. Read more here.

On Thursday I met up with Nick who was taking a huge step in his vision for missionary work. I was really moved when he talked about how God had provided for him when it came to financial difficulties so much so money, or lack of it, is no longer an issue to him.

The bible talks about leaving comfort for Christ and to change the world for Him. In today’s world, the financial crisis has bogged so many down, some more affected than others. So many so busy trying to save themselves from lapsing into poverty. The rich getting richer, the poor getting poorer and no one the wiser for Christ.

It really is a challenge to leave everything for missions.

I wonder if I’ll be able to do that.

“Truly I tell you,” Jesus said to them, “no one who has left home or wife or brothers or sisters or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will fail to receive many times as much in this age, and in the age to come eternal life.”

Luke 18:29-30
