This is just my first year voting. Many have fought tirelessly for years. How many elections did they see unfruitful?
How many times have our true leaders suffered at the hands of the corrupt? Going to jail, beaten, framed, murdered…
All so we can be aware.
Revolution is not a battle overnight won.
I went to bed fuming over the injustice of it all. Blackened my facebook profile as if this gesture would get today’s winner to concede. Then I remembered our government is one of the most corrupt, why am I surprised they pulled all these stunts?
Where will my Malaysia be tomorrow? Was my last thought before I slept.
“Still in My hands”, was His immediate reply.
The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him
Psalms 24:1
I woke up with joy at His words of encouragement and the encouragements from many Malaysians.
My vote DID count.
These elections had the highest turn out in Malaysian history. Those flying in from all over the world to make sure their voices are heard. People were lining up since 6:30AM. Everyone keeping an eye out for fraud and foreigners. Hundreds posting pictures of their fingers as a sign of hope then blackening their fb pics as a sign of protest.
I have never seen Malaysians so united.
So riled up and fueled by oppression.
The skunks have only won on paper. Not in our hearts.
They can take away our votes, but they cannot take away our hope.
They cannot undo the wave they have started.
I am NOT waiting another 5 years for the rest of them to get a clue.
I don’t need the party I voted for to be in power now before making whatever difference I can.
Let the changes I want to see begin with me.
There is a greater need for God now more than ever before.
Let the prayer and fasting continue after these elections.
Only God can save us.
The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save.
Zephaniah 3:17
Dear Ruling Party,
I guess congratulations are in order.
Please don’t screw us over in the coming years.
Sigh.
