Right now my word is ‘HUNGER’, and partially because we’re in the middle of a corporate fast.
Challenging myself to trust Him with unprecedented, uncharted waters in finances, family & future.
Whether you’re single, married, man, woman, introvert, extrovert, rich, poor; this pandemic is forcing us to show our true colours of what do we do when push comes to shove. Will we really go after the one thats furthest from Jesus even when we’re struggling to find our footing? Will I still believe Jesus to call me out to walk on water when I’ve sunk before? Will I be obedient to stay when everything inside me wants to quit or leave?
The other day I heard a sermon about the boy with 5 loaves and 2 fish, when he offered it to Jesus, would he maybe have thought, “But that’s my lunch, now I’m going to go hungry”
And Jesus allows one obedient boy to go hungry for a short while so He could display His glory through that ‘YES’ to bless 5000+ people and then have plenty leftover.
"Remember every road that God led you on for those forty years in the wilderness, pushing you to your limits, testing you so that he would know what you were made of, whether you would keep his commandments or not. He put you through hard times. He made you go hungry. Then he fed you with manna, something neither you nor your parents knew anything about, so you would learn that men and women don’t live by bread only; we live by every word that comes from God’s mouth." Deuteronomy 8:2-3
So God allows us to hunger, to humble us, test our hearts, yes, but ultimately to whet our appetite to desire for more of Him.
Lord, this is where I am today morning, bringing everything to the feet of Jesus.
